Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Trade.Place (“we”, “us”) handles information when you visit trade.place and its pages (the “Site”). By using the Site you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

  • Information you submit. When you use a form (buying request, freight quote, listing application, expert help, contact, newsletter, donation pledge, contest entry or job application), we receive the details you enter — for example your name, email, company, phone number, country and the content of your request.
  • Calculator inputs. Calculations run entirely in your browser. We do not receive or store the numbers you type into the tools.
  • Automatically collected data. Like most websites, our hosting provider and third-party services may log technical data such as IP address, browser type, device, pages viewed and referring URLs.
  • Preferences. We store small items in your browser's local storage, such as your light/dark theme and cookie-notice choice.

2. How we use information

  • To respond to your messages and process your requests.
  • To share buying, freight and expert-help requests with relevant suppliers and service partners when you ask us to (you consent to this on the form).
  • To send the newsletter if you subscribe (unsubscribe anytime).
  • To operate, secure, measure and improve the Site.
  • To show advertising that keeps the Site free.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not publish your contact details.

3. Form processing

Form submissions are transmitted over HTTPS through a third-party form-relay service (FormSubmit) that forwards them to our team. That provider processes the data only to deliver the message. Please do not submit sensitive personal data or confidential documents through our forms.

4. Advertising and Google AdSense

We use Google AdSense to display ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or, in Europe, youronlinechoices.eu. Learn more in how Google uses data from sites that use its services.

Where required by law (for example in the EEA, UK and Switzerland), consent for personalised ads is requested through a consent message before such cookies are used.

5. Other third-party services

  • YouTube videos load only after you click play, using YouTube's privacy-enhanced (youtube-nocookie.com) mode; YouTube's own policy then applies.
  • Google Fonts are loaded from Google's servers to display text.
  • Exchange rates for the currency converter are fetched from a public API (open.er-api.com); no personal data is sent.
  • Hosting is provided by GitHub Pages, which may collect technical logs for security.

6. Cookies

Cookies and similar technologies are used for essential functions, measurement and advertising. You can accept all or choose essential only in our cookie notice, and you can delete or block cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies may affect some features.

7. Data retention

We keep form submissions only as long as needed to handle your request and for reasonable record-keeping — normally no longer than 24 months (12 months for job applications) — unless the law requires longer.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, UK GDPR, or California law), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising. To exercise these rights, use our contact form and choose “Privacy request”. You may also complain to your local data-protection authority.

9. Children

The Site is intended for business users and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal data.

10. International transfers and security

Our service providers may process data in countries other than yours. We use reputable providers and encrypted connections, but no online transmission is completely secure.

11. Changes

We may update this policy and will change the “last updated” date when we do. Significant changes will be highlighted on the Site.
