Why we exist

Buying from or selling to another country should not require a law degree. Yet first-time importers routinely lose money to surprise duties, wrong Incoterms, half-full containers and suppliers who disappear after the deposit. Most of those losses are avoidable with the right information at the right moment.

Trade.Place puts that information in one place — free calculators that run in your browser, guides that explain the why as well as the how, and a buying-request desk that connects serious buyers with suitable suppliers and service providers.

What we do — and what we don't

• We publish original educational guides, a glossary and free tools.
• We route buying, freight and expert-help requests to relevant independent partners.
• We do not sell goods, hold payments, issue customs declarations or act as a party to your contracts.
• We do not give legal, tax or customs advice — we help you ask better questions of the professionals who do.

Editorial policy

Every guide is written from scratch for Trade.Place and reviewed for accuracy before publishing. We link to official sources wherever rules are involved, label estimates as estimates, and date our updates. Sponsors and partners never influence our editorial content or tool results; sponsored material is always labelled. If you spot an error, tell us and we will correct it.

How Trade.Place is funded

To keep everything free for users, we earn revenue from display advertising (including Google AdSense), clearly labelled sponsorships, referral or listing fees from vetted partners who receive buying requests, and voluntary supporter contributions. Buyers never pay to post a request.
